"I just
installed a set on my CRF450R also
and am very confident when I do put
them to the test that they will
protect much better than the
"braces" I have been using. Mardis
"steel cage" design makes this
vulnerable area much more solid than
a soft aluminum brace, and still
weigh less than 1 lb.. Instructions
were good, just allow about an hour
to install, due to the trimming of
plastics to fit around cages.
Customer service is a very important
part of any good product, and Shawn
at Mardis shows great concern in

"So I got lucky and got these
guards. At first I was skeptical
because they are look like nothing
but do have the wrap around design
and seemed like a roll cage for the
rads. I was planning on using two
different sets of guards. one for
forward and back protection and the
other for side protection. The cost
would have been double these.
When I received them I was still
skeptical, because they are light
and there is seems there is nothing
to them. The packaging was great and
service from the business was
equally great.
On my 07 CRF450, I have the left rad
aftermarket and the right replaced
oem. Yeah I like to throw the bike
around and crash allot. They way I
see it if your not crashing hard
every once in a while, you're not
riding on the edge hard enough.
I was surprised to find the Mardis
cage fit the after market rad almost
as though the design was meant for
it. I only had to clearance for the
lower "roll bar" on the heavy outter
aluminum support of the rad. A few
notches in the plastic with tin
snips and the everything fit back
great and seemed really solid.
The other side, where the oem rad
is, was an even easier fit. No
clearancing needed or nothing,
except for the plastic notching.
Well two weeks without riding due to
work, and I was ready. Guess what,
these work great. I really haven't
had a problem bending up the
aftermarket, except for front to
back, which I promise the Mardis
with take care of. But my crash was
hard on the right side, oem rad. I
over jumped a bowl turn and landed
on the crest leaning already into
the turn. The crest of the bowl hit
the triple clamp, fuel tank and rad
area. I was worried, thinking time
to buy another rad. Nope. The Mardis
roll cage worked.
Great protection and movement
support. I am definitely buying
another pair for my wife's 450X and
any other bike that hits the

"Hello everyone. I have had Mardis
Racing Concepts Radiator Guards on
my 08' CRF450R for about a month
now. The guards are holding up well
so far. I have crashed on both
sides, and the radiators show zero
impact damage. I must say that I
haven't had a big get off yet to
really put them to the test. I'm in
no hurry for that, but will let you
guys know when it happens. The only
other thing that i should report is
on installation. I do 90% of work to
my bike, and I didn't have a problem
with the install of these guards,
but it does take at least 45
minutes. I suggest getting a dremel
for some trimming that has to be
done to the plastic. Everyone that
has checked out these guards thinks
they look cool, and Shawn at Mardis
offers great customer service!" |
